I loved how Nancy worked independently once I explained my tribulations.

I worked with Nancy recently to clean out and reorganize my bedroom and closet. I had just been through a big personal change and was feeling overwhelmed and in need of some help. Everything in my room seemed neglected and out of place. The closet was a disaster, stuffed to the brim with clothing, shoes, and lord-knows-what-else. When I met with Nancy, she listened intently and her down to earth and accommodating personality made me feel at ease. After laying out a plan to help, she went straight to work, helping me figure out what to keep, what to move and rearrange, what to throw away, and what should have stayed in the 1990’s :). By the time she was finished, my master bedroom and closet were clean, functional and serene spaces. My wardrobe is healthily pared down and I can actually FIND outfits that fit and coordinate now. Best of all, no more clutter and it feels amazing to start and end my days in a peaceful sanctuary. Thank you so much, Nancy! Highly recommend her services.
I didn’t know what to expect but I’m SO glad I had Nancy come to my house to help me organize my storage room! She helped me work out a system for my summer and winter clothes so I could easily switch them over when the weather changes (and since they are all in clear boxes I can see where everything is in the mean time!) She even helped me figure out some clothes to donate to Salvation Army. I will definitely book her again for wardobe consulting now that I know she’s good at that too. Thank you Nancy!
Get To Know Tampa Organizer Nancy
After majoring in Apparel at Rhode Island School of Design and spending 12 years in the fashion industry, Nancy realized the long hours and high stress of her design career were not leading to any sense of fulfillment. In 2011, she had the epiphany that her obsession with organization and efficiency is what has made her so successful in all her past jobs. She also realized that it was a skill she wanted to use for helping other people. Soon after, she quit her full-time job, left New York, and began to soul search for her true calling.
Nancy has since branched out to expand her skills in design-related fields such as visual merchandising, color development, and closet design while working with clients on the side as a professional organizer and wardrobe consultant. Nancy is thrilled to be devoting her time to organizing work now, as part of the Me In Order team.
Outside of organizing, in July 2020, Nancy won Honorable Mention for her acrylic painting in the 13th Annual Bay Area Art Exhibition. She is a member of the Tampa Regional Artists group. Nancy has lived in the Tampa Bay area since 2017 and shares a home in Clearwater with her husband and their two dogs, Dee and Andy. When she’s not organizing, Nancy can usually be found hiking on trails, swimming in her pool with a cocktail in hand, or creating artwork.
Q & A with Tampa Organizer Nancy
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I’m definitely not a morning person, but I also go to bed a lot earlier than I used to! Is there such a thing as an afternoon person?
What is your favorite form of exercise?
I love hiking on trails because it brings me peace to commune with nature. It’s like a form of meditation for me. Bonus: if the weather isn’t too hot, my dogs can come, too!
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Kindness and good deeds are contagious.
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
I will usually either go sit by the pool and enjoy the sunshine or play with the dogs.
The best part of waking up is…
Every day is a chance to make a new start for yourself.
Have you any hidden talents?
I like to make my friends laugh by doing impressions of birds and various other animal sounds, as well as make faces to imitate animals’ expressions.
What adventure changed your life?
I went on a road trip for 6 months in 2014/ 2015, where I camped out in National Parks in the Western United States. My priorities every day were to figure out how to get food/water, and where to sleep next. It was a refreshing change from my hectic life leading up to that point. Somehow we have all made our lives so busy, noisy, and over-complicated when all we need to survive is food, water, and shelter. It really helps put things into perspective. We need to learn to slow down more often and to think about ways to simplify our lives so we can spend more time focusing on what matters to us most.
Do you have a junk drawer in your house?
I do not have any junk drawers, because we are pretty good about tossing things that don’t serve a purpose. The closest thing I have to that is the one “miscellaneous” drawer I allow for the house. It’s closest to the front door and it’s the section of the counter where we tend to drop all our things when we come inside. On top of the counter is a place for mail sorting, and the drawer below it has separate compartments where smaller things get sorted if they have no other relevant “home” around the house.
If you could organize for a celebrity who would it be?
Someone like Selma Blair or Venus Williams who has been facing an illness that brings them difficulty with navigating their life in the way they were previously accustomed. I would want to help come up with creative solutions to problems they may face with day-to-day tasks and finding what they need easily.
Kindle or paperback book?
I still love a physical book in my hands. I don’t even own a Kindle.
