What is the 30 Day Clutter Detox?
The month of March brings the start of spring, shorter days, rain showers and the reassessing of our New Year’s Resolutions.
Usually, we have dropped off on our promises, exercise routines, diets and positive attitudes, and have reverted back to our “sinful” 2018-selves.
I, myself am at fault for not following my resolution to work out three times per week…but no worries, because the Catholic observance of Lent is here.
Lent requires all those who practice the Catholic faith to reflect and prepare for the celebration of Easter. Many, including myself, will give up something or make a promise during this 40-days of preparation. This year, I am giving up meat.
I am on Day 5 and I can already feel a shift in my body; much like a detox, I am starting to go through a small withdrawal but at the same time, I can feel the toxins leaving my body and with that, I am feeling healthier, lighter and happier (for now…until I start craving Chick-Fil-A!)
The reason why I bring up resolutions and Lent is because this “detox” that I am going through makes me truly think about those who not only need to detox their bodies, but also need to detox their homes and their lives.
Me In Order has a way to help you tackle your home in the form of a book, written by our very own Certified Expert Organizer®, Kelly Barber. The 30 Day Clutter Detox is a simple program that helps you tackle your clutter, one space at a time and will help you get on your way to being organized in just 30 days.
By detoxing our environments, going through our homes and eliminating toxins, and focusing on giving up some of the things that are holding us back, you will be on your way to a healthier and peaceful life.
I don’t want to give away the whole book…but our Certified Expert Organizer® and author of this book, Kelly Barber puts together some great action steps for you to take during this time of detoxing. Each day focuses on a new task that can easily be implemented room-by-room in your home. Kelly keeps it short and sweet; the tasks are no more than an hour and can be done during the week. Kelly also includes weekend projects that may take a little longer, but prove to bring great results.
What I learned while reading The 30 Day Detox is that with anything, whether it be giving up meat, vowing to go to the gym more, or promising to get organized…you get out of it what you put into it and that all starts with a simple “Yes, I am going to do this.”
Once you make the decision to make a change, you simply have to keep doing the task at hand until eventually it becomes a habit and doesn’t appear to be as such a daunting task as when you first started.
The goal is to just start…and The 30 Day Clutter Detox is a great place to begin if you are struggling with clutter and need to detox your home and your life. It’s one thing to decide to make a change…it’s another to implement it and this book offer suggestions and advice on how to do so.
The goal of The 30 Day Clutter Detox is to give you a guide to remove toxic clutter from your home but also organize and display the items you truly love and the items that truly bring you happiness.
Think about it; if your home is organized and you can find everything you need in under five minutes…what would you do with the time you are saving? Usually we spend hours of precious time searching, stressing, feeling anxious about the items in our home…when we could use a guide like The 30 Day Clutter Detox to help us trim down the frustrations and spend more time being with family or doing what we truly love to do.
You need help…and you need it now. Of course, Me In Order is always here to provide you with Certified Expert Organizers® to help you live a clutter-free lifestyle. But if you are still unsure about taking this step, I highly recommend starting your organized journey using Kelly’s The 30 Day Clutter Detox.
